🥢 Multi-Floor Dining: TABE Fusion has opened at 209 S. Main Street (the old Jim Brady’s location). Featuring dishes from Japan, China, Korea, Thailand, and the Philippines, the three-floor restaurant offers a unique dining experience on each level. The first floor is a casual Asian fusion restaurant, the second floor is dedicated to omakase (a Japanese dining style where the chef selects and prepares a personalized, multi-course meal for each guest), and the third floor is reserved for private parties. Local foodies will like this Instagram reel.

🛎️ Vanguard Hotel: A new 188-room hotel, The Vanguard, is set to open next month at 201 Glen Ave (across the street from the old Angelo’s location). Part of Marriott Bonvoy’s Autograph Collection, the hotel will feature an on-site French-inspired restaurant, La Serre, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. ⛳️ Barton Hills Country Club: Last week, the USGA (United States Golf Association) announced the 2026 U.S. Senior Women’s Open Championship will be played at Barton Hills Country Club. The prestigious Ann Arbor course, established in 1922 and restored in 2012, previously hosted the 1998 U.S. Women’s Amateur and 2008 Women’s Mid-Amateur. This will be the 8th edition of the championship, which is open to professional and top amateur women golfers aged 50 and older.

🎨 New Downtown Mural: Earlier this year, a cool new mural appeared at 121 E Liberty St (where Cinnaholic is). The new mural, entitled “The Lasting Light”, shows the sun and clouds during the day and transforms to the moon and stars at night. Tony Lee and Bradley Scherzer are the artists behind the piece. Here’s a good video that shows the mural’s transition.

🏀 Playoff Pistons: After a league-worst 14-win season last year, the Detroit Pistons are headed to the playoffs for the first time since the 2018-19 season. Their current 43-35 season is a record-breaking turnaround, no team in NBA history has made the playoffs after winning so few games the previous season.
