🌳 New B2B Segment: Last week, the city of Ann Arbor announced a new 0.6-mile segment of the Border to Border Trail (B2B) through Barton Nature Area. The new stretch includes a paved trail, a renovated canoe livery drop-off area, and a Great Oak Nature Playground - creatively built from a 150-year-old white oak. Next, the city will begin focusing on creating a pedestrian tunnel below the railroad connecting Barton Nature Area with Bandemer Park.

📉 M Den Financial Troubles: On Friday, Heritage Collegiate Apparel, the company that operates The M Den, filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy. The announcement comes after reports surfaced in the spring that the sports retailer faced multiple legal challenges over unpaid debts from vendors and landlords. U of M is looking to bring on a new merchandiser to serve as its official retailer that would continue to operate under the name The M Den.

🏀 Basketball Court Murals: As part of Ann Arbor’s bicentennial festivities, artists Amanda Humphrey and Joe Trumpey's mural design was selected to be painted on the basketball courts at Bicentennial and Leslie Parks. The winning mural, chosen after a public vote, showcases Ann Arbor’s evolution with vibrant depictions of the Huron River, bur oak trees, and the city skyline. Residents are invited to help paint the mural at Bicentennial Park (formerly Southeast Area Park - 2901 E Ellsworth Rd) this weekend. You can sign up to paint here.
