🍦 Main Street Ice Cream: Milk and Froth, a Detroit-based ice cream shop, has opened a new location at 328 S. Main Street (the old Prickly Pear location). Known for its craft ice cream made from scratch, Milk & Froth has grown from a Detroit ice cream truck business in 2018 to a regional ice cream wholesaler with two brick-and-mortar locations. The downtown Ann Arbor location will be open year-round.

🕹 The Future of Pinball Pete’s: A developer has proposed replacing the South University Galleria Shopping Center (1214 S University Ave) with a 17-story mixed-use building. The new building would house 211 apartments above 2,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. If the project were to move forward, the future of Pinball Pete’s, Starbucks, Pancheros, and other current Galleria tenants would be up in the air.

🇵🇸 Pro-Palestine Protesters: On Friday, a pro-Palestine rally on the diag ended with hundreds of supporters gaining access to U of M’s Ruthven Administration Building demanding a meeting with the university president. The demonstrators, made up of various campus organizations and community members, are calling on U of M to divest from Israel. Multiple police units were deployed to the scene. By 10:30 PM, the sit-in was cleared and 40 citations were issued to protestors who refused to leave.

🔋 Public EV Chargers: Last week, Ann Arbor unveiled its first public curbside EV charger. As over half of the city’s residents are renters (54%) and are therefore unable to install private chargers at their homes, the city has opted to install public EV chargers on utility poles. EV owners can find the location of utility pole chargers through the Flo or ChargerPoint apps.
