🐈️ UP Cougar Cubs: For the first time since Michigan’s native cougar population was wiped out over a century ago, two cougar cubs have been spotted in the western Upper Peninsula. The cubs were seen in Ontonagon County on March 6, marking the first confirmed evidence of potential reproduction in the state. Though adult cougars have been documented in Michigan—132 sightings since 2008—DNA testing has only ever identified males. Wildlife officials say it’s unclear whether these cubs were bred in Michigan, but their presence confirms the state has the habitat to support them.

WNBA
🏀 WNBA In The D: Detroit is making a strong bid to bring a WNBA team back, backed by Pistons owner Tom Gores, Lions owner Sheila Ford Hamp, Eminem, Grant Hill, Chris Webber, and Jared Goff. The team would play at Little Caesars Arena, reviving the legacy of the Detroit Shock, who won three titles before relocating in 2009. The bid includes a dedicated practice facility and community sports center, but Detroit faces competition from cities like Cleveland and Nashville as the WNBA expands.
