🌮 Miny’s Expands To Ann Arbor: Miny’s, the popular Ypsi-based Mexican restaurant, is opening up a second location at 1141 Broadway Street (an old Cottage Inn location). Miny’s will occupy the space next to the new Madras Masala site. Neither Miny’s nor Madras Masala have released opening dates for their new restaurants.

🍻 Arbor Brewing Co. Returns: After the pandemic forced them to close their Ann Arbor location, Arbor Brewing Company returned to town last week by purchasing the Session Room on Jackson Road. The restaurant, bar, and beer garden has been renamed Arbor Brewing Company Session Room and is maintaining the same staff and menu with the addition of 20 Arbor Brewing Co. beers on tap.

🍎 Concordia’s Future: Amid the financial crisis announced earlier this year and the potential closing of the school, the Board of Regents at Concordia University Ann Arbor met last week and declared 1) the university will remain open past June 2025 and 2) will remain a part of the broader Concordia University network, rather than going independent. The decision to remain open will likely come with more limited program offerings after the 24-25 school year, staff layoffs, and the selling of some campus buildings.

🥳 Top of the Park: A2SF’s Top of the Park returns this weekend. Located on Ingalls Mall (a block on campus between East Washington and North University), the 15-day-long, open-to-the-public summer festival features over 200 concerts, art exhibitions, kids' activities, movie screenings, and more. Westside Art Hop | Facebook

🎨 Westside Art Hop: 70+ artists will have their works on display at 30+ locations during the Westside Art Hop this weekend. A cross between an art walk and an art fair, the Westside Art Hop is a local tradition where families living in Ann Arbor’s historic westside neighborhood convert their homes, garages, and lawns into art galleries for attendees to browse through Saturday and Sunday. Here’s a helpful map of the event.

♻️ A2ZERO Week: In 2020, the city of Ann Arbor committed to A2ZERO, a framework for achieving community-wide carbon neutrality by 2030. To honor and celebrate that commitment, the city organizes one week every year full of events and sustainable education. A few of the events:

Various ward parties throughout the week
A sewing repair clinic today from 12:30 - 2:30
A climate-themed board game night at Bløm from 5 - 10 PM on Wednesday
A climate trivia night at Venue from 7 - 9 PM on Thursday
A block party at the YMCA from 12 - 4 PM on Saturday
Sustainability-focused games and activities from 5 - 8 PM at the A2SF KidZone on Saturday
