🐐 Goats at Work: To combat invasive plants and poison ivy, the city’s Parks and Recs department has enlisted a herd of goats. The four-legged civic workers will start on the islands of Gallup Park before eventually being relocated to Broadway Park. And yes, you can buy “Goats at Work” merch from the Ann Arbor Parks and Rec shop. And double yes, the parks and rec department does have an apparel shop. Our town rules.

⛳️ Commerica Park: This fall, Michiganders will have the chance to tee off from the upper decks of Commerica Park. While specific dates for the 3-day event have not been announced, early access registration is available.

🛞 Teen Drivers: According to new data from the Secretary of State, fewer Michigan teens are driving than 20 years ago. In 2021, 56% of age-eligible Michigan teens had driver’s licenses compared to 66% of age-eligible Michigan teens in 2000. Experts believe expensive driver’s training, time-intensive required driving hours, and a decreased interest in in-person socializing are to blame.

⚡️ Underground Power: Consumers Energy is seeking regulatory approval to pursue a pilot program to bury power lines in a new, cost-effective way. Based on results from utility providers in other states, Consumers believe underground lines can improve the grid’s power outage resiliency by 90%.
