🎨 Art Fair Week: It’s here. Three days of art exhibits from nearly 1,000 artists spread out across 30+ blocks of downtown Ann Arbor. If an additional 500,000 people visiting town isn’t your idea of a good time, you may want to head up north this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. If you’re a first-timer, here’s a helpful map and here’s a list of tips from the city. Happy Art Fair week!

😷 Invisible Mask: Taza Aya, a U of M startup, has created a hard hat-mounted air curtain system that blocks 99.8% of airborne pathogens from reaching the wearer’s face. The device includes a nonthermal plasma module in a backpack that treats air before it reaches the wearer, eliminating pathogens and providing a safe, breathable barrier. Here’s a 3-minute video explaining the new technology.

🍳 Mario-Inspired Breakfast: In this month’s Observer, Iggy’s Eggies founder Eli Boyer shared the Mario Kart character “Iggy” is the inspiration behind the breakfast restaurant’s name. While gaming, Boyer’s then three-year-old daughter would often shout the name of Bowser’s henchmen, Iggy. “We didn’t really consider anything else,” Boyer says. “It just sounded too good, and it was too much fun.” 10/10 wholesome.
