❌ DEI Changes: Last week, U of M announced the immediate closure of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and the Office of Health, Equity, and Inclusion, as well as the discontinuation of the DEI 2.0 Strategic plan. Announced in a public letter, university leaders wrote that the decision was made, “Based on our assessment of input from various stakeholders regarding our DEI programs – along with recent federal actions – and after conversations with Regents, university leaders, deans and government officials.” The University says it will invest money that was reserved for DEI programs to “student-facing initiatives” such as financial aid, mental health support, the Blavin Scholars program, academic success, etc.

🌷 “Holland” Debuts: A movie set in Holland, MI starring Nicole Kidman debuted on Amazon Prime this past Thursday, and reviews are looking… pretty tough. On Rotten Tomatoes it currently has a 26%. USA Today wrote “Since it’s streaming on Prime Video, Amazon really should throw in a coffee maker so you can make it to the film's lackluster denouement,” and the UK Independent wrote, “the story is plain, dry melodrama. There’s not a lick of the camp, the satirical, or the demented in sight.”
If bad horror movies are your thing, here’s a link to stream it on Amazon Prime.
