🏈 NFL Vet Turned Shopkeeper: Taybor Pepper, a 7-year NFL vet (who was on the 49ers last season), is opening Ginza Marketplace, a trading card store at 319 Main Street (the old Your Media Exchange location). An MSU alum who attended Saline High School, Pepper is currently building out the shop and crowdsourcing store ideas on Instagram. Ginza is hoping to open next month.

Lower Town Riverfront Conservancy
📅 Opening Date: Broadway Park West, the long-awaited riverfront development on DTE’s former industrial site off Broadway Street (across the river from the Amtrak station) will officially open September 12. While all parts of the multi-stage development are not complete, the space now has paved trails, a pedestrian bridge, fresh grass, and new trees in place. Later this year, construction will begin on an events pavilion, condos, retail spaces, a nine-story hotel and a riverfront restaurant.

Hobbs and Black Architects
🏗️ High-Rise Proposal: Last week, developers proposed a 10-story, all-electric high-rise on the corner of First & Huron that would replace Live nightclub, the Last Word, HanJan Pocha House, and the Arbor Atrium. If approved, the current 1920s-era brick buildings would be demolished and tenants would need to relocate. Residents can see renderings and give feedback at a community meeting July 8, 7-8 p.m., at Zingerman’s Greyline (100 N Ashley).
